Man sentenced for role in Butte death

Michael Halvorsen was beaten into unconsciousness on Dec. 25, 2006 after he allegedly pushed a female guest at a party. The 35-year-old was placed in his pickup truck after the attack and suffocated because of the way his body was positioned.

Butte-Silver Bow County Attorney Eileen Joyce said Ryan did not assault the victim, and tried to stop the attack, but was reckless by placing Halvorsen in his vehicle.
